Minister for Mineral Resources and Energy Tom Koutsantonis said the forum is a great opportunity for South Australian-based resource companies to find investment partners for their project.
“Local companies keen to build links with the Asian region are strongly encouraged to take part in this summit. Investors from China are looking for resources investment opportunities in Australia at all stages of development, from early exploration through to operational mines,” Mr Koutsantonis said.
According to the report, China is in fact South Australia’s largest two-way trade partner, with exports including a range of mineral resources, bulk agricultural commodities, wine – and more.
“The Australia-China Minerals Investment Summit provides an opportunity to showcase projects to prequalified investors from both state-owned enterprises and the private sector.”
The forum will include a unique “speed dating” sessions to introduce companies to potential investors and business partners to maximise the chance of making a business match.
Mr Koutsantonis revealed the State Government’s involvement is one of many initiatives delivered as part of the ‘South Australia – China Engagement Strategy’ launched in December 2012.
