Surefire Resources NL (ASX:SRN) will soon commence a new 6,000m reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at its Yidby Gold Project to extend the prospect’s gold mineralisation output.

Surefire’s Yidby Gold Project runs along the southern portion of the Yalgoo-Singleton Greenstone Belt in the Mid-west region of Western Australia. The region contains significant gold intercepts, with three gold prospects hosting significant mineralisation.

The company previously identified six fresh-rock intersections at the prospect site.

These intersections will be subject to Surefire’s drilling program which should initially comprise 40 holes for 6,000m of RC drilling,

Drilling will focus on defining and extending previous intersections that are 56m thick.

On the latest drilling project, Surefire Managing Director Vladimir Nikolaenko commented: “We are looking forward to re-starting the drilling program at Yidby Road aimed at expanding and defining this significant new gold discovery.”

Further drilling at the site will target extension zones with larger gold reserves, Nikolaenko added.

“We will also be testing the other gold-bearing structures within this wide corridor of gold mineralisation, that may continue for up to 5km within the Surefire tenements.”
