The revised proposal envisions the construction of a uranium mine consisting of four deposits: Centipede, Millipede, Lake Way and Lake Maitland, as well as the construction of roads power and water source and supply facilities, in pit tailings storage facility (TSF), accommodation and other associated infrastructure.

Toro said the assessment of the Extension to the Wiluna uranium Project was progressed through a rigorous, comprehensive and professional public environmental review coordinated by the Office of the Environmental Protection Authority (OEPA).

“The assessment included the consideration of substantive scientific studies addressing key environmental factors identified by both the government and the community,” Toro told the ASX.

According to the company, commencement of the project is now subject to meeting the conditions of Ministerial Statement 1051 with various government agencies pursuant to ordinary mining approval practices.

“Toro will now seek to complete the federal government assessment process under the EPBC Act by March 2017,” reads the company’s statement.
