A new electric vehicle (EV) fast charger is now live in Coolgardie as part of the WA EV Network.

The new EV charging site, delivered by Synergy, offers a 150-kW fast charger for quick EV charging and a 22kW backup charger.

Synergy CEO David Fyfe said the WA EV Network now allows EV drivers to top up in Merredin, Southern Cross, and Coolgardie.

“With 19 WA EV Network charging stations now live across the State, Synergy and Horizon Power are reducing range anxiety for EV drivers,” Fyfe stated. “This is helping to drive the uptake of electric vehicles and supports WA’s road to net zero emissions by 2050.”

The 49-location EV charging network, expected to be completed early next year, is set to be Australia’s longest and one of the world’s largest.

The $23 million network is part of the WA Government‘s Electric Vehicle Strategy, aiming to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
