Delta Drone International Limited (DLT) announced that its operating branch, Rocketmine WA Pty Ltd (Rocketmine), has signed a two-year contract with AngloGold Ashanti Australia Limited – Sunrise Dam Gold Mine.
According to DLT, Rocketmine has been delivering ad hoc project services to AngloGold and has recently codified the contract into a long-term contract. The contract has an AU$307k Total Contract Value (TCV) and an AU$154k Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR).
Drone surveying services will comprise monthly aerial surveys of ore stocks, tailings storage facilities, and other infrastructure as needed, performed by a dedicated on-site drone specialist.
“We are very pleased to have converted AngloGold Ashanti from being a regular project-based customer to a multi-year term partnership,” DLT CEO Christopher Clark said.
Clark stated that DLT’s long-range BVLOS and over 400ft approvals would instantly help AngloGold, allowing the company to capture and handle all of AngloGold’s geospatial requirements more swiftly and efficiently.
“This contract also contributes to the growth of DLT’s Annual Recurring Revenue, which is key metric investors use to value our company and its future revenue potential,” Clark added.
Sunrise Dam is an underground and open pit facility located 220 kilometres northeast of Kalgoorlie and 55 kilometres south of Laverton.
Following the closure of the open pit mine in 2014, underground mining, carried out by Barminco under an alliance contract, is now the principal source of ore. According to AngloGold, the underground mine produces roughly 2.7 million tonnes of ore per year, augmented by low-grade stockpiles generated during open-cut mining to fill the processing facility.
